Fan Film: Dark Knight Legacy

In this impressive fan film, Ned's younger brother and Night's Watch ranger Benjen Stark takes center stage. While on a scouting mission north of the Wall, the ranger makes a terrifying discovery.

Fan Film: Dark Knight Legacy

"The Dark Knight Legacy" Directed by Brett Register from Machinima

Though it's over a year old now, there’s still a debate raging as to the meaning of the conclusion of The Dark Knight Rises. Did Bruce Wayne survive or was Bruce's uncanny appearance in the café mearly a figment of Alfred's imagination? Did John Blake become Robin or Nightwing or even a new Batman?

While there the answer to the first question will never be definitively settled, the answer to the second question is much more clear. Remember Wayne's quote from Batman Begins: "As a man, I’m flesh and blood; I can be ignored, I can be destroyed. But as a symbol…as a symbol I can be incorruptible. I can be everlasting." Clearly, Blake is intended to rise to fill Batman's shoes, validating the entire point of the trilogy.

Sadly, we're never going get to see Nolan's version of Blake's story, but director Brett Register has harnessed the fanatically following of Christopher Nolan's trilogy to create a fan film that offers up some closure. It's called The Dark Knight Legacy, and it's fairly brilliant. Set one year after the events of The Dark Knight Rises, The Dark Knight Legacy follows John Blake's adventures as Nightwing, defending Gotham City from a new villain known as the Red Hood.
"Dark Knight Legacy is a fan film set one year after the Dark Knight Rises, following "Robin" John Blake's heroic journey to protect the symbol of Batman from the lethal, relentless attacks of a masked vigilante known only as the Red Hood."

Fan Film: Batman: Puppet Master

"Someone's been letting inmates out of Arkham Asylum...

In the months following the death of Harvey Dent, Batman, still a wanted fugitive, is pushed to his limits as a new crime wave hits Gotham. Batman's search to find who's responsible leads him to a showdown with the masochistic serial killer Victor Zsasz.

Meanwhile Gotham's newest crime boss, a mysterious figure known as Scarface, has a meeting with Edward Nigma, an FBI agent, sworn to bring down Batman at all costs."

"My son Alexander was a hobbit for his second Halloween. I put this costume together over a few months. The clothing items all came from thrift shops or baby consignment stores (corduroy pant, white button-down shirt, and a tan vest). The cape was sewn by my mother from emerald green felt material ($2 at Goodwill). The brooch had to be just right so we ordered one on Amazon.com to match the ones they wear in the Lord of the Rings Films ($6). His feet are even hairy. I used fun-fur yarn material to wrap his brown/tan flip flops and create his furry little feet ($5 @ Joann's). Overall, the entire costume cost less than $25 and our little Hobbit looked totally epic."

Vehicle: KITT Replica

I love this car, but I can't imagine driving it around every day.  Especially not during the dating years...  Still, I'd love to take a ride behind the wheel of this car once.
"Movie and TV replica cars can be hit or miss — sometimes they're indistinguishable from the cars that inspired them, and sometimes they're just laughable. Recently we were fortunate enough to take a ride in KITT's doppelganger, the spitting image of the heavily modified black Pontiac Firebird Trans Am featured in the classic 1980s show, "Knight Rider.""

Art: Anatomical Man

Professor Dr. Claudia Diaz developed an innovative educational approach to engage graduates in their study. over a period of 18 hours, a student volunteer was fully transformed into a highly-detailed, and biologically accurate anatomical man. with the help of body paint and models, a team of five students meticulously concealed his entire body in layers of pigment, painstakingly coloring the muscles and tendons to be scientifically sound, in an indication of what the human body would look like if it were to be stripped of the skin.

Music: Steam Powered Giraffe

"Fire Fire" (Live at the La Jolla Playhouse in San Diego) by Steam Powered Giraffe

Steam Powered Giraffe is a musical group from San Diego that is something like the Blue man group of steampunk culture.  It features twin siblings David Michael "The Spine" Bennett and Christopher "Bunny" Bennett.  I only just heard of them after seeing their name on the schedule of events for the upcoming Youmacon, but now that I've got their signature song stuck in my head, I can't get it back out.
