"After coming across a conceptual Batgirl sketch by Miles Teves (a-la 1997’s ‘Batman & Robin’), I knew I had to portray this female caped crusader. Thanks to the super talented David Pea, I think we managed to do this sketch some real life justice."

'Game of Thrones' Burlesque Show Draws Fantasy Lovers to Lower East Side
The other day CNN let some dude named Joe Peacock vomit up an embarrassing piece on its Web site, about how how awful it is that geekdom is in the process of being overrun by attractive women dressing up in costumes (“cosplaying,” for the uninitiated) when they haven’t displayed their geek cred to Mr. Peacock’s personal satisfaction. They weren’t real geeks, Mr. Peacock maintains ... but John Scalzi contends Who Gets To Be a Geek? Anyone Who Wants to Be.

The iPhone-controlled mech exoskeleton wields twin gatling guns that fire airsoft style BB rounds at a rate of 6,000 rounds per minute.
Suidobashi is offering these mean machines for US$1.3 million a pop.

Video: Nightwing
Here's a fan-made short film for Nightwing that was inspired by Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises. The movie was made for a few hundred bucks by Jeremy Le and Danny Shepherd. Here's the description posted on YouTube:
In honor of The Dark Knight Rises coming out, we decided to make a short film based on one of my personal favorite DC/ Batman characters; Batmans old sidekick, "Nightwing".It's not groundbreaking or particularly cinematic, but it sure makes the case for Warner Bros. eventually making a Nightwing movie.
We were really inspired by Christopher Nolans world as well as the amazing game "Batman Arkham City", so hopefully that'll show through.
We had a lot of fun making it even though we only had a few hundred bucks as a budget and not a whole lot of time to put it together! We would love to revisit it again someday!

"Armor shoulder is all sintra, and the spikes are held on with large 5/16" carriage bolts. Heavy duty stuff! Gauntlet is all sintra and styrene.
Sword is all plywood. Even the rings I fabricated out of wood. Pretty proud of that to be honest! I can cut circles!
Cloth portions are pretty plain, but of not is that the orange sash was burned at the edges in order to get a very nice worn out effect. Turned out well!"

Cosplay Culture
"Costumes are the new trenchcoats. Cosplayers are the new goths and it’s like the aftermath of Columbine all over again. Yes, what happened in Colorado was a tragedy, but it’s not the kind of thing that will happen every day and it’s no reason to punish an entire group of people who like to dress a certain way or have certain interests."
