The Scarecrow

"For Halloween this year I dressed as The Scarecrow from Batman. There are many versions of the character from various media, but I based my costume mainly on the Animated Series version. The costume was handmade (excluding the hat and gloves which were purchased and slightly modified). I generally spend weeks every year making an elaborate Halloween costume and have been doing so since the 1990s, but this is the first time I will be putting pictures online. On Sunday October 30th I participated in the Kawasaki Halloween festival, Japan's largest Halloween event, along with 3500 others. The concept for the mask comes from fellow deviant boredman, and credit for its design goes to him. I simply looked at his awesome Scarecrow cosplay and replicated the mask that I saw. Enjoy!"

Steampunk: Twisting history, crafting community For devotees of Steampunk, the most appealing aspect of the community is that there’s no set of rules dictating the right way to participate. But this fact also poses its own thorny line of questioning for outsiders: Just what is Steampunk?

TotalFilm has posted a gallery of the 40 Sexiest Movie Cosplay Costumes. Yes, you've probably seen them all already, but you won't mind seeing them again.

Yeah okay so the title is boring, what of it? This shot was taken by my friend who did a really awesome photoshoot of my two costumes. This one was one of my favorites because it showed off the makeup designs and it's one of the few shots where you can see some of the armor up close.

It was actually raining during out photoshoot, which was great for lighting, but I was so afraid our makeup would run. We had no issues though except for a giant water droplet landing right in my eye.

Carbon Fiber Stormtroopers

Leonard Carson, an engineering technician for San Diego Composites, had been toying around with this idea of a carbon fiber Stormtrooper for a long time. He finally convinced three of his engineering co-workers to jump on board with turning this carbon fiber idea, into a carbon fiber reality.

These are the first ever carbon fiber Stormtrooper suits.  The cost to produce these were as much as a mid range BMW sedan.

Masks: Forged Copper Triceratops

"Surprisingly comfortable, incredibly cool. If you want to be the best dressed at any masquerade, this is the fellow for you. He sits on the head like a well sized hat, his rather slight weight evenly distributed. He's out of the way enough to eat hors-d-oeuvres, though you should certainly take a straw. Also, unlike a traditional mask with strings, he easily lifts off and on the head without any need for knots or assistance. And, finally, he's a dinosaur."
If you have a spare five thousand dollars to drop on a piece of wearable art, look no further.  You can order your own Triceratops mask through Etsy.
