Fresh Take: Mushroom Kingdom Special Forces
Artist and illustrator Coran Stone created a Call of Duty style series of Super Mario Brothers themed illustrations. Coran’s inspiration for these bad ass pieces of art derives from his artist pal Jake Castorena and girlfriend’s awesome Mushroom Kingdom Special Forces Halloween costumes.

Humor: Covering the Bases

Ultimate Fan Costume by Indy Magnoli
Boba Fett, Jack Sparrow, Joker, Batman, Wolverine, Doctor Who, Superman, Storm Trooper, Indiana Jones, and Han Solo all rolled up in one.
"Ok... time for a bit of fun. I love good cross-over costumes and I came up with this idea of crossing over as many pieces as I could into a single costume. This started out as an idea for a drawing (which I'm actually still working on) but after seeing the Costume Contest, I thought it'd be fun to see how much of the illustration I could do in real life with what I had in my collection, built up over the years.
So, I present to you the Ultimate Fan Costume"

Halloween Costumes: Locutus
Locutus of Borg Halloween Costume by djkendog
There are easier ways to be assimilated into the Borg Collective, but 300 manhours and approximately $800 can fake it well enough. This amazing light-up Evil Jean Luc Picard costume even has a drink holster in the crotchual region, for when cybernetic organisms need a quick cool-down. Check out the full details on the build over at Instructables.
